The night that Jeff and I finally made it to 1808 American Bistro up the road in Downtown Delaware was last winter, (figuring out this whole blogging work flow has been an interesting road thus far, we’ll talk about that later), after spending the cool December Sunday outside with Heather, photographing a maternity portrait session at The Ohio State campus.
Dinner at 1808 American Bistro
I walked in the door to the best question I could have, “hey, wanna go out to dinner?”. Music to my ears.
Hell yes I wanted to go out to dinner, that sounded like the best way to wrap up a really great day. I was told that putting everything away could wait, jackets were grabbed and out the door we went. It wasn’t until we were in the car that I asked if we had a destination in mind, or were we deciding as we went. There was a destination in mind, as it turns out, just up the road from us, in downtown Delaware.

We walked in on the latter end of the evenings service, and it didn’t take me long at all to decide on what I’d be having. The soup of the day that day was Beer Cheese (uh, yes please) along with a their burger and fries.
All of which were freakin’ tasty.
I don’t remember what Jeff ordered that night, and neither does he, and in his words that was because “you won dinner”. I do remember that the burger was perfectly cooked, the fries were fresh, clearly hand cut, and fried to the perfect crisp outside yet soft and smooshy inside. The meal that night, wrapping up a day spent out in the brisk winter sunshine, was the perfect end to the day.
I can’t wait to go back.
