So, since we moved out to the midwest last summer, I’ve been running about a million miles an hour with my hair on fire.
After getting home from WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) Conference in Las Vegas last month my body decided that I was going to take a break, whether I wanted to or not. Enter pneumonia.
I’m suuuuper stubborn, and figured that it was just the flu, and really, what would the doctor tell me to do, rest and load up on fluids.
So that’s what I did.
aaaaaaaaand it didn’t work at all.
I ended up in the hospital, on oxygen and IV antibiotics to try and kick it, which thankfully started working rather quickly in the grand scheme of things, and I got to come home to heal and rest and sleep. So much with the sleeping.
SO MUCH SLEEPING. SO. MUCH.
The biggest downside? How freakin’ long it’s taking to heal and get back to even a semblance of normal. My old normal let me juggle a few things at one time, and multi task like a crazy woman (thank you years in corporate sales).
Now? Hah.
I’ve been allowed to do one “thing” a day. And even then, I have to take more naps than my year old nephew. It’s not been fun.
One of the biggest benefits to being confined to the couch, lots of editing time. (and Netflix time. Can’t forget about the Netflix.)
As of today, I am COMPLETELY caught up on editing. COMPLETELY! This is a BIIIIIG deal. It’s kind of like getting your inbox completely managed and cleaned out. Hardly ever happens right?
I’m going to embrace it, and use this forced lesson in taking things slower to keep it this way.
Get ready, because the posts that I’ve been working on are about to come flooding out.
