Base Waffle Recipe

Yield 10 Small Waffles

This recipe is great on it's own, with butter and syrup, or, can be loaded up with whatever you can dream up.

A go to at our house is crumbled bacon on it's own, or, adding in cheddar cheese and diced green onion.

Ingredients

Instructions

Dump everything together into a bowl and mix well together.  If you have a stand mixer, it works well, if you don't, a hand held mixer works well.  (I haven't tried mixing by hand, but if you do, make sure that you whisk everything together so that the batter is not lumpy. )

Heat waffle iron to medium high. Make sure that the plates are hot before starting.

You can skip the next step if you're wanting to go with plain waffles.

Dump one cup of batter into a small bowl, adding whatever you want to load your waffle with.  I used shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, and chives.

Mix all together with a fork, making sure everything is well incorporated.  Once everything has been mixed well, move to the next step.

Dump one cup of batter into the center of the waffle iron, let it settle out, and close iron to cook.

Check for done-ness by the lifting the edges of the waffles with a fork, if they lift out easily, they're good to go.
